On Fireworks and Jewish Fathers
I just got back from Florida, one of the few states where any schmuck can buy fireworks. The thought did not cross my mind. If you're Jewish, you understand. For everyone else, I'll explain. Every time Jewish parents take their kids to see fireworks, whether its for Independence Day or New Years, they admonish them never to use them, just leave it to the professionals. Kids who use fireworks almost all lose an eye before long, and if they're lucky, just a finger. You know you're a Jew when somebody mentions something fun like fireworks, motorcycles, or monkey knife fights, and the first thing you can think of is some salient risk associated with it.
